Welcome to the USS Nimitz!

The 12 years following the close of the Dominion War were among some of the most peaceful and prosperous years the Alpha Quadrant had seen in centuries. Slowly, industry had begun to thrive again and trade routes renewed the hope of normalcy returning to life. At the forefront of the recovery, the Federation dedicated itself to a new era of peace and exploration and returning to its core principles.

The hope of a lasting age of peace came crashing down at the close of 2387 with the tragic destruction of Romulus at the hand of a deadly supernova. The disaster sent ripples of fear and uncertainty through the quadrant. Now, the peace and prosperity of the last decade are threatened by factions rising from the ashes of the Romulan Empire, familiar foes rearing their ugly heads and new enemies creeping from the shadows. With dangerous and uncertain times on the horizon, the Alpha Quadrant needs a beacon of hope more than ever.

The crew of the USS Nimitz, armed with the most advanced ship Starfleet has ever built, have been charged with safeguarding the future of the Alpha Quadrant and carrying forward the mission of the Federation: to seek out new life and new civilizations and bold go where no one has gone before...

On behalf of the command staff, and to all the awesome players here, I want to wish you all a very happy new year 2012! Annnnnd we're off!

Please make sure you read the Mission Notes (on the page where you post the mission entries) as it explains the goals and breakdown of stuff going on in this episode. Remember that we're using the new posting system, so this episode will only run between 30 and 50 posts before we close it and move on to the next section of the mission.

If there are questions, please let me know. If not, let's see those posting fiends start doing what they do best!

» He's Baaack...

Posted on Sun Oct 16th, 2011 @ 1:07am by Major Porter Wallace in Out of Character

Hello all!

After many years (...apparently I'm getting old...) the murderous, ill-tempered, berzerk Marine Porter Wallace is returning to the simm in a whole new role. As your loving, caring Chief Counselor. He's here for your mental health, and he will take no prisoners...

I look forward to writing with you all!

David (the other one/new one/old one depending on your point of view)

» Changing Things Up

Posted on Sat Oct 1st, 2011 @ 10:15am by Captain Alex Diaz in Simm Announcement

Yes, you read that post correct.

A few weeks ago, Del and Nikki came to me with an idea to change things up a little bit ... or a lot. In order to properly, accurately and realistically tell Sirta's sub-story, we had to make some changes. Effective immediately, Del is moving back to Chief Operations Officer and Nikki is moving in to the role of XO with a new character.

We'll be taking a little bit more time to get Nikki's new character into the flow (and let people continue to work their own little stories during shore leave) before starting the new mission. I want to thank Del for the time he spent as the XO and all of those late night conversations about all things RL and IC and I'm looking forward to the same with Nikki now too!

Any questions, let me know.

David

You all may have seen or realized from my recent post that I'm back again. Looking for anyone that wants to do a joint post or has an idea for something that I could be doing constructively. Just let me know and I'll try and stay on top of it as much as I can.

Running the treadmill was just right when you didn't really have anywhere to get in particular. Botany lab hadn't had its usual soothing effect on her anymore. Much as she still loved her job, it hadn't felt like the green cocoon from life's chaos it had used to be to…

Amber (NPC) slowly made her rounds through the Ward, checking up on their patients. By this time after the bombing on Narie, the Nimitz had transferred out all non-Starfleet patients, so those few who remained under continuing care were all their people. She passed by the Berdas' and logged…

Kiyoshi opened his mouth to respond to Ibis' statement, when the two of them were interrupted by a throat being cleared beside them. Looking up, they spotted a full Security team, spread out in tactical positions around them, clearly at the ready.

"Petty Officer Nakari?"

Mission: The Shape of Things

ON

Admittedly, Captain Diaz hadn't spent more than a few minutes on the Nimitz's Marine deck. Since notifying Lieutenant Javindhra of her new posting as the company CO, he'd left her to her own devices to assemble her team. Occasionally he'd had to approve a transfer or chat with another…

Mission: The Shape of Things
Posted on Wed Jan 16th, 2013 @ 11:30pm by Petty Officer 2nd Class Kiyoshi Nakari & Petty Officer 3rd Class Ibis Xeri

ON

Kiyoshi Nakari (NPC) had loaded up his tray with a pretty typical Japanese meal: sticky rice, miso soup, fried fish, pickles, tamogoyaki (Japanese omelet), and spring beans. And green tea, matcha, the powder variant. The tea was a personal choice. Most of his fellow colonists preferred the loose-leave variety,…

I feel empty today. I'm waking up remembering people that I used to be. I remember a time when I felt so full I would explode with life, everything was luscious and new. I'm told it was because I was young. But I don't think it's that. Not just that…

Everyone is talking about the Remans like they're some sort of demons. I guess they kind of look like the atravadeen spooks in one of those holonovels I had when I was kid, but I'm sure those weren't based on the Remans. Were they? No, probably not. More than anything,…

I suppose I misunderstood the counselor at the Academy when she said I might expect to see Major Wallace again soon. Maybe my own hopeful mind invented the idea. All the same, just knowing he is out there somewhere-- alive! Maybe it's best I couldn't find him. There's no telling…

Holding a tablet pad on his lap, the quiet sound of the small shuttle was soothing. Not even the two pilots up front were randomly conversing. Looking down at the pad, Jonathan tapped the console next to him and the rear compartment closed off from the "cockpit" area.

"Computer, begin…
